Aquino Helps Tigers Beat Guardians, 9-7
The Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 9-7, at Comerica Tigers Park. Detroit designated hitter Luis Aquino had a superb performance. He was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Dave Weaver, now 5-1, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Tigers lead the American League Central Division by 10½ games.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Aquino delivered big-time for Detroit, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Angel Heredia. The game-changing hit put the Tigers on top, 9-7.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Detroit manager Robert Carson.
