Nationals Prevail, 4-2, Over Philadelphia
|
The Washington Nationals stopped the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-2, at Nationals Park. The Nationals got a big game from Miguel Sano, who was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. Washington raised its record to 73-52 with the win.
Aaron Judge had a big solo home run for the Nationals in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Washington leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from António Pacheco and swatted a home run to center. It was his 14th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 4-2.
Washington manager Mark Grudzielanek was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
