Blue Jays Bridle Pirates, 3-1
|
PNC Park was the site of a tense game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays.
The Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-1, in American League action at PNC Park. Toronto pitcher and Lakeland, Florida, native Chris Sale had an outstanding performance. The Blue Jays sit in second place in the American League East Division with a record of 71-56.
Robbie Miller, who is tied for 10th in the AL in home runs with 19, had a direct impact on the outcome. Miller contributed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put Toronto up, 1-0.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Sale.
