|
Kauffman Stadium played host to some high drama.
The Kansas City Royals faced a tough opponent in Texas pitcher Iván Galló, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Kauffman Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Galló went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Kansas City reliever Gabriel Llanes picked up the win, raising his record to 5-4. Lou Green was tagged with the loss.
Hervé Masson was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Royals left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Masson.
With this game in the books, Kansas City is 68-58, Texas 62-66.
