New York Gets Another L
|
Getting an impressive start from Tony Nava, Boston beat New York by the score of 4-2. Nava picked up the win for Boston, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 9-9. The misery never ends for the Yankees, who've lost 11 in a row.
Boston needed the clutch hitting of Xander Bogaerts to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Sox on top, 3-1. For the game, Bogaerts had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Boston manager Alvin Morman was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
