The Minnesota Twins downed the Chicago White Sox, 9-3. The hitting star was center fielder Jorge Cota. Cota went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Twins. Anthony DeSclafani, the winner, improved to 9-11. He held the White Sox to 1 run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 2. The second-place Twins now have a record of 72-63.

With Minnesota leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Cota hit a 2-run single off Chicago hurler José Castaneda. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Cota and put his team ahead, 5-0.
