The Chicago White Sox got a sterling performance from pitcher Mike Kelly, but the Minnesota Twins still prevailed, 5-3. Kelly threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Minnesota pitcher Bobby Bass earned the win, hiking his record to 6-4. Trevor Rosenthal suffered the loss. After today's action, Minnesota sits at 73-63, while Chicago falls to 69-66.

Richmond, Texas-born Anthony Rendon came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Twins trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right-center to put Minnesota on top.

Rendon called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
