Rangers Come Back Late to Top Brewers, 4-2
|
The Texas Rangers had to overcome a fine effort from Milwaukee pitcher Tim Hankins to win, 4-2, at Miller Park. Hankins went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Chris Wynn, his 12th. Texas goes to 71-65. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
Shigenobu Ito came through with a big-time hit for Texas. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Texas skipper Eric Wedge. "I can't complain."
