Miami Downs New York, 4-2
|
Miami and New York took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Miami Marlins starter Raúl Rosas was dealing. He helped his team knock off the New York Mets, 4-2. Rosas, who is tied for 5th in the NL in innings pitched with 172.1, went the distance for Miami. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits.
Miami used the timely hitting of Rainis Silva to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marlins on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Raúl is a gamer," said Miami manager John Patterson.
Miami has now won 3 in a row.
