Diamondbacks Get Clutch Win Versus San Francisco
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks locked up a win at AT&T Park, knocking off the San Francisco Giants, 4-3. On the mound for Arizona was right-hander Jorge Corral. He played a major role in the triumph. Jorge Gonzáles was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 25 save opportunities. With the win, Arizona upped its record to 85-62.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Derek Briggs? The 25-year old third baseman Briggs stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Arizona up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said San Francisco manager Travis Fryman. "The effort was great."
