Seattle Tacks 3-2 Loss on Los Angeles
|
Fred Cove pitched well, but the Los Angeles Angels still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. With the victory, the Mariners upped their record to 81-69.
The Mariners got a big at-bat from first baseman Bob Hollis. For the game, Hollis was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Seattle a 3-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Seattle skipper Jeff Banister.
