Whiteford Deals Houston 2-0 Setback

The Atlanta Firebirds reigned over the Houston Astros in damp conditions.
Mike Whiteford, who is tied for 9th in the NL in complete games with 1, was locked in. The right-hander led the Atlanta Firebirds to a 2-0 win against the Houston Astros at SunTrust Park. Dan Hicks earned his 9th save in 11 chances.
Mike Whiteford was masterful. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings.
Said Houston manager Manny Acta: "We weren't able to do much."
The Firebirds go to 59-91 with the win.
