Cleveland Upended by Detroit, 4-2
|
Cleveland got a valiant performance from pitcher Hunter Harvey, but it wasn't enough to beat the Detroit Tigers. Detroit won the game, 4-2. Harvey threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. With the win over Cleveland, the Tigers improved to 91-60.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from third baseman José Navarro. For the game, Navarro was 2-3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 36th double of the season gave Detroit a 4-1 lead.
Said losing manager Tristan Bugbie: "Give the Tigers credit. They played a better game than we did."
