Riding the 3-hit performance of the 31-year old left fielder Tito Polo, the Cincinnati Reds stopped the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-0. Cincinnati pitcher Chris Kohler got the win, upping his record to 7-10. Jim Rose got the loss. Cincinnati is now 70-80, St. Louis 67-85.

With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Polo hit a 2-run single off St. Louis hurler Jim Rose. It was the 76th hit of the season for Polo and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't put our best foot forward tonight," said losing manager Ty Van Burkleo.
