Mariners Down Royals, 3-0
|
Donnie Ellis, who is tied for 7th in the AL in complete games with 1, never let the Royals get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Mariners to a win, 3-0. The Mariners improved their record to 82-70 with the win over Kansas City.
Seattle starter Donnie Ellis was a master of his craft. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Ellis.
