The New York Mets knocked off the San Diego Padres, 4-1, at Citi Field. Dalton Pompey was a big reason New York won. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Mets go to 53-98 with the win.

With New York leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Pompey hit a sinker from Jesús Rodríguez for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 4-0.
