Seattle Upended, 4-2, by Houston
|
Houston pitcher Erling Moreno had a large part in his team subduing the Seattle Mariners, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. With the win, Houston has a record of 63-92. Seattle falls to 82-73.
Houston designated hitter Josh Burkett contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Astros ahead, 4-1.
Said losing manager Jeff Banister: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
