Rangers Rally Late to Nip Mets
The Texas Rangers earned a close win over the New York Mets, thanks in part to Lance McCullers Jr.. The Texas right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the AL with a 1.18 WHIP, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Chris Wynn picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-8. Edgardo Castillo was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Texas a record of 84-75.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ismael Lópes in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Edgardo Castillo to win the game for Texas. The home crowd went nuts.

After the game, Texas manager Eric Wedge applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
