The Boston Red Sox stymied the Cleveland Guardians, 4-1, at Fenway Park. Dave Hopper had a good day at the plate. He was 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI for Boston. Tony Nava, the winner, improved to 16-5. He held the Guardians to 1 run on 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Terence McCray got the save, his 44th in 51 chances.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Hopper.
