In a low-scoring contest between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays, 30-year old right-handed pitcher Darwin Ramos proved to be the difference. The New York right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Yankees win. Shawn Harris notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-2. Brad Gray was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 32 of 34 save opportunities.

Had Xander Bogaerts not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Bogaerts hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Yankees.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Ramos.

The loss makes Tampa Bay 83-76.
