Baltimore Earns 4-3 Win
|
The Orioles grabbed a win, 4-3, at Yankee Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from New York pitcher Ernesto Stainforth. Stainforth went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Baltimore reliever Taijuan Walker picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Caleb Williams took the loss. Jung-ho Chang notched his 13th save in 21 chances.
Jon Wilson came through with a big-time hit for Baltimore. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Wilson.
The triumph puts Baltimore at 87-74 for the season.
