Washington Pockets 8-3 Win Over New York
The Washington Nationals beat the New York Mets, 8-3, at Nationals Park. The win was due in part to catcher Christian Bethancourt, who was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Paco Rodriguez, who signed a 3-year contract worth $16,500,000 on 12/27/2025, was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Jesús García. The victory gives the Nationals a record of 89-73.

Washington took the lead, 6-3, on Michael Choice's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off New York pitcher Jesús García in the bottom of the seventh.

"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said New York manager Mike Matheny.
