6 Straight Wins for Red Sox
The first-place Boston Red Sox picked up another win.

Boston second baseman Bo Dawson was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Chicago Cubs. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Red Sox. Carlos Perez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 6-1. Terence McCray got the save, his 45th in 52 chances.

Dawson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 changeup from Jon Hall, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Red Sox a 6-4 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Dawson.

"It gets contagious with hits, a few walks, balls falling in," said Red Sox manager Alvin Morman.

Boston has now won 6 in a row.
