Miami pitcher Frank Lopez did his part in helping his team beat the New York Mets, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Luis Alvarado was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Marlins left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
