Hector Jimenez, who led the AL in wins with 18 in 2024, had a strong outing for the Cleveland Guardians against the Baltimore Orioles at Progressive Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 7-3 win. With the loss, Baltimore is 1-1.

Rene Pinto had a big 2-run double for the Guardians in the bottom of the second inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Carlos Rodon, who finished 2nd in the AL in ERA with 3.23 in 2018, and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Guardians ahead, 3-0.

"Hector was throwing with conviction," said Cleveland manager Tristan Bugbie.
