|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the San Diego Padres were eager to watch Wing-chiu Chin square off against Cam Adkins of the visiting Detroit Tigers. In the end, the Padres won the game, 6-3, with Wing-chiu Chin leading the way.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jorge Gordon in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Mauro Orama to win the game for San Diego. The home crowd went nuts.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Chin said in his postgame press conference.
