Fans of the Seattle Mariners who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Seattle win over the visiting Minnesota Twins, 5-2. Al Lockhart started for the home team against Jared Turner. Al Lockhart earned accolades for his performance.

Reese McGuire had a big run-scoring double for the Mariners in the bottom of the second inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jared Turner and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mariners ahead, 2-0.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling McGuire.
