Tigers Pin 7-6 Loss on San Diego
|
Good production from center fielder Johan Sala helped the Detroit Tigers topple the San Diego Padres, 7-6. Sala went 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. Tomás Mendoza picked up the save, his 1st. San Diego is 1-1 after the loss.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Sala delivered big-time for Detroit, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Steve Huff. The game-changing hit put the Tigers on top, 7-5.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Sala.
