A 4-RBI performance from Mike Garland, who finished 3rd in the AL in triples with 9 in 2023, helped the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-3. The victory makes Los Angeles 1-1.
With Los Angeles leading 4-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Garland came up to bat against Arizona pitcher Sean Thomas. Garland hit a cutter to right for a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season put the Dodgers on top, 7-0.
Garland said his team "played with focus."
