Starting pitcher John Gant did his part in helping the Colorado Rockies thwart the Miami Marlins, 2-1. Picking up the save was Dave Kirkpatrick, his 1st. The loss puts Miami at 1-1.
Jeff Taylor, who finished 2nd in the NL in RBI with 121 in 2024, had a direct impact on the outcome. Taylor contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Colorado up, 2-0.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Taylor.
