The New York Mets got a superb performance from pitcher Juan Mismit, but the Houston Astros still won the game, 4-3. Mismit threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. New York drops to 1-1.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 30-year old catcher Art Morrison had a real shot to win the game. New York pitcher Terence McCray was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Morrison hit a 2-run single. The Astros had a walk-off triumph.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said New York manager Raul Dominguez.
