Gómes 4-for-5, Angels Move to 2-1

The 9-3 Los Angeles win over Oakland was due largely to Myron Gómes. The Angels designated hitter went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Los Angeles is off to a hot start at 2-1.
Augusto Ramírez had a big 3-run home run for the Angels in the bottom of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from fan favorite Kevin Hunt and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Angels on top, 5-0.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Oakland manager Bob Melvin.
