The Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays put on a pitchers' duel.

The Houston Astros downed the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-0, at Rogers Centre. Stellar pitching by Kevin Rogers had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, the 29th overall pick in the 2019 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. Picking up the save was Erling Moreno, his 1st.

Tony Holman came through with a big-time hit for Houston. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'm happy we won," said Rogers. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."

Toronto now is 2-1.
