Cubs Suffer 6-2 Home Defeat
|
The Washington Nationals knocked off the Chicago Cubs, 6-2, at Wrigley Field. Lucius Fox Jr. hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Steve Moss. He tossed 89 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. Dominic Bingham earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Washington took a 6-2 lead on Fox Jr.'s 1st double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Trey Supak in the top of the seventh, propelled Washington to the win.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Fox Jr. told the Washington News.
The Nationals, now 2-1, have been playing some good baseball.
