Papi, Guardians Beat Mariners, 9-7
|
Cleveland and Seattle duked it out and the Guardians came out victorious.
The Cleveland Guardians topped the Seattle Mariners by a score of 9-7. Leading the way was right fielder Mike Papi. Papi was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Guardians. With the loss, Seattle is 2-2.
With Cleveland leading 5-2 in the top of the third, Papi hit a forkball from Bobby Frazier for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Guardians ahead, 8-2.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Papi.
