Pittsburgh pitcher Max Fried did his part in helping his team beat the Baltimore Orioles, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Joe Kaiser closed it out for Pittsburgh, earning his 2nd save. With the loss, Baltimore sinks to 3-4.

Pittsburgh took a 2-1 lead on Joe Allen's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Allen hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Randy Marte visibly frustrated.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Allen said.
