Kansas City Beats Milwaukee, 3-1
|
Starting pitcher Colin Rodgers gave the Kansas City Royals a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-1, at Kauffman Stadium. Jefferson Vergara earned the save for Kansas City, his 1st of the year. Milwaukee, with the loss, is still a stout 5-2.
The Royals got a big at-bat from third baseman Camil Groza. For the game, Groza was 2-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Kansas City a 3-1 lead.
"Colin kept his poise and got the job done," said Kansas City manager Jim Tracy. "He was outstanding."
