The Milwaukee Brewers met little resistance from the Cincinnati Reds, beating them, 12-3, at Miller Park. Kevin Thompson led the way. He was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Milwaukee. The winning pitcher was Tristan Hill. His record now stands at 1-0. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits for the Brewers. Greg Schatz picked up his 1st save of the season.

Monte Harrison had a big 2-run home run for the Brewers in the bottom of the second inning. With Milwaukee trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Anthony DeSclafani, who led the AL in wins with 17 in 2016, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Brewers on top, 2-1.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Thompson.

Cincinnati falls to 4-4.
