Angels Absorb 7-3 Loss at Minute Maid Park
|
The Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros left the fans buzzing.
The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Angels by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Steve McGuire. McGuire went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Astros on the day. The win went to Andres Sanchez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Max Rey took the loss.
McGuire had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 slider from Max Rey, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Astros a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for McGuire.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Houston skipper Chris W. Carter.
Los Angeles falls to 3-6.
