Yankees Beaten By Pirates, 8-5
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates cut down the New York Yankees by the score of 8-5, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Oscar Cameron. Cameron was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Pirates. Joe Kaiser closed out the game, earning his 3rd save. New York is 4-5 after the loss.
Pittsburgh shortstop Jeremy Bowen contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 6-5.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cameron said after the game.
