Giants Absorb 4-2 Home Loss
|
The Philadelphia Phillies rode a solid performance from 35-year-old starting pitcher R.J. Hansen to a win, beating the San Francisco Giants, 4-2, at AT&T Park. Dan Chase snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Chet Greene suffered the loss. Alex Claudio recorded his 4th save for Philadelphia.
Philadelphia used a timely hit from Maikel Franco to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Phillies ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"R.J. just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Philadelphia manager Chaz Frank.
With the loss, San Francisco drops to 3-9.
