Marlins Earn Late Win
The Miami Marlins faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Braden Shipley, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Citi Field by a final score of 3-2. Shipley went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. António Mireles earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Dominic Leone, who is a two-time All-Star, earned the save for Miami.

Daryl Hatfield came through with a big-time hit for Miami. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Miami manager John Patterson.

With the loss, New York drops to 4-7.
