Twins Prevail, 6-5, Over Detroit
|
The Minnesota Twins weathered an outstanding game by Detroit center fielder Johan Sala to topple the Tigers, 6-5. Sala was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win puts Minnesota at 7-5.
Had Anthony Rendon not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Rendon hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Twins.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Rendon.
