The Minnesota Twins knocked off the Kansas City Royals, 8-3, at Kauffman Stadium. Gabriel Corporan was a big reason Minnesota won. The third baseman was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win went to Julián López in relief, making him now 1-0. Kevin Martin took the loss for Kansas City. The Royals, now 4-9, continue their sluggish start.

Minnesota went up, 4-3, on Andy Townsend's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Townsend hit in the top of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Esteban Muñóz muttering to himself.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Corporan told the Minnesota Bulletin.
