Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Kansas City Royals knocked off the Chicago White Sox, 7-5, at Kauffman Stadium. Dave García was a big reason Kansas City won. The right fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. Randy Richey, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 1.
The decisive blow was delivered by Joe Washington in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 34-year old right-handed pitcher Alec Asher to win the game for Kansas City. The home crowd went nuts.
"The crowd went nuts," Washington said.
The White Sox fall to 5-8 and continue their sputtering start to the 2026 season.
