The San Francisco Giants grabbed a win, 15-5, over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. San Francisco shortstop Franly Mallen went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The Giants raised their record to 10-3.

With San Francisco leading 5-0 in the top of the second, Mallen came up to bat against New York pitcher Ernesto Stainforth. Mallen hit a cutter to center for a bases-clearing double. His 2nd double of the season put the Giants on top, 8-0.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Mallen told the San Francisco Chronicle.
