Mets Come Back Late to Top Astros, 2-1
New York starter José Ferrer put a stranglehold on the Houston offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Mets to a 2-1 win. The win belonged to Franklin E. Perez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ricardo Rodriguez took the loss for Houston. Edgardo Castillo picked up his 5th save of the season.

New York took a 2-1 lead on Konstancji Andrychowski's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Andrychowski hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Ricardo Rodriguez visibly frustrated.

"José did a tremendous job," said New York manager Mike Matheny.

The Astros, now 5-9, continue their slow start.
