Blue Jays Take Down Twins, 3-2
|
Rogers Centre was the site of quite a ballgame.
The Toronto Blue Jays snuck past the Minnesota Twins, 3-2, in 11 innings. Toronto pitcher Albert García, in particular, had a standout performance. Henry Hirsch, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 2 innings.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Toronto third baseman Josh Morgan, facing Jorge Fajardo, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Blue Jays the 3-2 win.
"Albert mixed and matched," said Toronto manager Don Mattingly.
The Twins drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2026 season.
