Fernández Leads Mets to Win
Led by Deron Fernández, the New York Mets defeated the Oakland Athletics, 6-3. Fernández was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Mets. New York is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 14 games.

New York took a 6-3 lead on Fernández's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Tommy Meyers in the top of the eighth, propelled New York to the win.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Fernández told the New York Times.
