A 3-RBI performance from second baseman Henry Correa, who is tied for 9th in the NL in triples with 1, led the Pittsburgh Pirates to a win over the Washington Nationals, 5-3. Joe Kaiser closed the game out for Pittsburgh, earning his 5th save. The Nationals fall to 7-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2026 season.

Had Correa not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Correa hit a 2-run single. The Pirates took the lead, 5-3, and never looked back.

Pittsburgh manager Jose Mijares praised his team's "businesslike approach."
